AC on my SO 37

Just picked up a 2002 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 37. Has anyone here successfully added AC to theirs? Will a regular home AC work, or is there a better marine friendly option?

A home AC unit won't hold up well in a marine environment theres too much corrosion risk, and they're not built to deal with the moisture and movement, its not rocket science, in fact I think its pretty obvious, your best bet now is probably a compact marine split or self contained unit and power draw is something to factor in too, shore power or a solid genset is a must

Agree with @AyJay22 there. Brands like Dometic and Webasto make good systems for boats. They're compact and handle moisture and movement way better.

Congrats on the new boat but regarding your issue, corrosion and power draw will be issues so yh get a good marine AC unit with a water cooled system and you will need to plan for ducting and water intake
